Comparison of Hypercholesterolemia Induced by Triton WR-1339 and High Cholesterol Diet

Abstract

|
|
The object of this study was to produce the animal models for hypercholesterolemia with two different methods: injection of Triton WR-1339 and feeding with a hypercholesterol diet containing 1.5% cholesterol and 0.5% cholic add. We examined the values of the total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein(HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), and triglyceride (TG) in both models. In each model, hypercholesterolemia was markedly induced.
